About Bruce & Erin Wilson

Our founders Bruce & Erin Wilson are the proud parents of a fun loving and overly energetic young man named Jay who has moderate to severe Autism. Jay has very limited language ability.  He has been lost at school and camp in the past.  We keep a watchful eye on him and stay close. Often we position ourselves between Jay and an exit because he can suddenly decide to bolt into danger and he is fast.  If I Need Help was created out of our concern and love for our son. Once we had a system that provided a greatly increased measure of security for him and greater peace of mind for us we decided to share this with the millions of other people in the same situation as us.

Executive Summary:

If I Need Help is a 501(C)(3) nonprofit organization working to reunite those who are lost, disoriented or can’t self-advocate with their loved ones and caregivers. We use QR Code Technology that can be accessed by computer or cell phone to provide help, emergency iD and peace of mind. We offer a free online member profile, and Emergency Q&A that can be edited in real time and emailed or printed in an emergency. Our customizable iD products include iD cards, & wearables such as shoe/dog tags, patches, pins/clips, & apparel.

If I Need Help provides assistance for loved ones with communication issues who may wander or need assistance self-advocating in critical situations. We help reunite those who might become lost, disoriented or need assistance in a critical moment with their families, loved ones, and caregivers using new and existing technologies in ways that are practical, easy to access and affordable.

When a loved one wanders off

When he or she is found they often are unable to identify themselves and do not ask for help or carry an ID. They are usually unable to communicate their needs, share personal information and what might be done to help calm them. Also, what the rescuer should know in an emergency such as medical conditions. That's where If I Need Help comes in.

Here is a person that needs help

Easy free sign up and membership: Personal wearable QR Codes that immediately alert the public that "Here is a person that needs help" & how to help them. We provide a place where the multitude of information about a person with special needs can be kept in one place. This information can be accessed by whoever needs it at the time. A Policeman, jogger or anyone who scans them can find basic information quickly from the individual's public site. A babysitter, therapist, doctor, teacher or any trusted person can find out password protected secure detailed personal information. All of this information can be changed in real time by logging onto the site remotely or from a desktop. It can also be emailed to first responders in an emergency.

Individuals profiles can be accessed manually from any web browser or via scanned QR Codes. QR Codes can be read quickly by any smartphone. QR reader Apps can be downloaded for free from App stores.
