Dementia Wandering Prevention

Wandering or elopement is a common and sometimes dangerous behavior among dementia patients. As a community, we are committed to offering tools and solutions that will help.

People with dementia

May wander because of confusion, restlessness, or trying to follow a past routine. This behavior, while often misunderstood, can lead to serious safety concerns. At If I Need Help, we aim to prevent these incidents by utilizing modern technology and promoting an informed community.

Our purpose is built around customized QR code technology

The approach entails utilizing wearable devices that are connected to a secure profile containing crucial details about individuals suffering from dementia that the family chooses to enter. Details about their specific triggers, methods for calming, and preferred communication techniques can be provided, as well as their name, contact information for their caregivers, and other personal information.

If someone wanders off

Their custom information on the wearable iD can be seen by a finder and anyone with a smartphone can instantly learn additional information by scanning the QR code. This instant access to information can enable passersby, first responders, or medical experts to avoid potential dangers and assist the individual in returning safely.

It is quick and easy to create a public profile

That will be seen when scanned. While the password protected portion will keep your loved one's personal information safe and secure. You can make adjustments to the profile as needed to ensure that all information is correct and up-to-date.
